FAITH LEADERS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR A BETTER WAY

Coalition met with dozens of faith leaders and members of the clergy this week. We briefed them on the status of the City Budget and our recent experiences with the Mayor. We discussed the potential impact that budget decisions could have on our communities, economically and in the loss of services.

The faith leaders expressed deep concern about the damage that layoffs and furloughs would cause to families in their congregations and surrounding communities. They pledged their support for City workers and committed to working with us to preserve City services and find a better way for L.A.

Rev. Eric Lee, President of Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Los Angeles, and Rev. Lewis Logan, of Ruach Christian Community Fellowship, joined Coalition members at the rally outside City Hall on May 18. This week, dozens more faith leaders pledged their support.
