Grants for union members with large hospital bills. The new Union SAFE Hospital Grants help to meet the extraordinary costs of unexpected health care crises, which are the number one cause of bankruptcy in the U.S. Most chilling is that most of those bankrupted by medical bills have health insurance. The new grant program provides $1,000 grants to help union members with large, unreimbursed hospital expenses that are 10% or more of their household income.
