Fee Payer (Fair Share Payer) Information

Local 777 and several agencies in which it represents bargaining units (including, but not limited to, County of Riverside, City of Los Angeles, City of Pasadena, and Los Angeles Airport Police) have negotiated Memorandums of Understanding that cover the terms and conditions of employment for you and other employees represented by our union.

In each MOU, there is an Agency Shop provision. Agency Shop means that as a condition of employment you have the choice to either join Local 777 or become a fee payer/fair share payer.

Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the existing law, if you do not wish to join Local 777 as a full member, you are still required to pay the fair share of dues that are chargeable and germane to collective bargaining and representational activities of Local 777 that benefit the entire bargaining unit.

For your clarification, an agency fee payer (fair share payer) is not a member of Local 777. But, as a fee payer/fair share payer you will pay dues, sometimes referred to as fair share fees.
